Zinc is an especially important mineral in the keratinisation processes of plumage, hair, skin and hooves, as well as in the development of bones and cartilage.
It is involved in numerous biochemical reactions as a coenzyme:
- In pigs, it prevents the occurrence of parakeratosis.
- In ruminants, it contributes to reducing the presence of somatic cells in milk, reducing the risk of mastitis, and increasing the milk production.
- In poultry, it enhances egg laying and hatchability.
