Description :Vitamin B1 mononitrate: minimum 98 - 102% of activity.

Properties :Thiamine, or Vitamin B1, was the first vitamin to be discovered. Thiamine is involved in essential reactions for the use of carbohydrates as sources of energy, it has an enzymatic function in the Krebs cycle and in the pentose phosphate cycle, although it also plays a vital role in nerve function and is involved in the biosynthesis of insulin.

Requirements :In most circumstances there are few situations in which a thiamine deficiency occurs in monogastric animals when their diets contain plenty of whole cereal grains or tubers rich in starch. However, the abundance of thiamine antagonists in feed and the sensitivity of this vitamin to some processing conditions can lead to deficiencies. The intensification of ruminant feeding systems has given rise to nervous disorders in livestock which respond to thiamine supplements.
