Properties Sodium selenite is an additive for use in animal feed of the group of essential trace elements (E-8).
Selenium is a component of the glutathione peroxidase enzyme which has the function of
detoxifying lipid peroxides. It is also an important constituent of the antioxidant defence system.
It prevents the occurrence of hepatosis dietetica in growing pigs and white muscle disease in calves.
It is essential in the prevention of hepatic necrosis and exudative diathesis in chickens.
